On the Static and Dynamical Transition in the Mean-Field Potts glass

چکیده
We study the static as well as the glassy or dynamical transition in the meanfield p-state Potts glass. By numerical solution of the saddle point equations we investigate the static and the dynamical transition for all values of p in the nonperturbative regime p > 4. The static and dynamical Edwards-Anderson parameter increase with p logarithmically. This makes the glassy transition temperature lie very close to the static one. We compare the main predictions of the theory with the numerical simulations. cond-mat/9410093 ROM2F/94/45

Finite - size scaling at the dynamical transition of the mean - field 10 - state Potts glass
We use Monte Carlo simulations to study the static and dynamical properties of a Potts glass with infinite range Gaussian distributed exchange interactions for a broad range of temperature and system size up to N = 2560 spins. The results are compatible with a critical divergence of the relaxation time τ at the theoretically predicted dynamical transition temperature TD, τ ∝ (T−TD) −∆ with ∆ ≈ ...
متن کاملStatics, metastable states and barriers in protein folding: A replica variational approach
Protein folding is analyzed using a replica variational formalism to investigate some free energy landscape characteristics relevant for dynamics. A random contact interaction model that satisfies the minimum frustration principle is used to describe the coil-globule transition ~characterized by TCG), glass transitions ~by TA and TK), and folding transition ~by TF). Trapping on the free energy ...
متن کاملScaling and universality in glass transition
Kinetic facilitated models and the Mode Coupling Theory (MCT) model B are within those systems known to exhibit a discontinuous dynamical transition with a two step relaxation. We consider a general scaling approach, within mean field theory, for such systems by considering the behavior of the density correlator 〈q(t)〉 and the dynamical susceptibility 〈q(2)(t)〉 - 〈q(t)〉(2). Focusing on the Fred...
متن کاملPrecursor phenomena in frustrated systems.
To understand the origin of the dynamical transition, between high-temperature exponential relaxation and low-temperature nonexponential relaxation, that occurs well above the static transition in glassy systems, a frustrated spin model, with and without disorder, is considered. The model has two phase transitions, the lower being a standard spin glass transition (in the presence of disorder) o...
متن کاملMean-field theory of the Potts glass.
We consider a gas of classical particles in R having q distinct colours, interacting via a mean-field Potts potential and subject to an external field; a colour-independent molecular interaction of a mean-field type is also admitted. In contrast to the usual lattice Potts model, the Potts gas exhibits the specific volume v as a parameter, in addition to colour-ordering. The v-dependence of the ...
